  • Diagnosing and treating heart conditions.

At St. Anthony North Health Campus we recognize the importance of treating and diagnosing chest pain as quickly as possible and provide our patients with the best possible prognosis to assist in a speedy recovery.

Our cardiovascular care team treats patients experiencing a variety of heart conditions including:

    • Myocardial Infarction (heart attack) - Occurs when the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart are blocked and prevent oxygen from reaching the heart.
    • Coronary Heart Disease (coronary artery disease) - The narrowing of the small blood vessels that supply blood and oxygen to the heart.
    • Sudden Cardiac Arrest - Occurs when the heart has stopped beating and blood is no longer being pumped throughout the body.
    • Heart Failure (congestive heart failure) - When the heart is not strong enough to pump the necessary amount of blood to the rest of the body.
    • Congenital Heart Defects - Refers to a defect in the heart's structure due to abnormal heart development before birth.
    • Broken Heart (Octopus Heart) - Mimics the symptoms of a heart attack, without any actual blockage.
    • High Blood Pressure - The force against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps through the body is too high and runs the risk of a heart attack.
    • High Cholesterol - A large build up of plaque within the heart's arteries, reducing the blood flow causing a heart attack, stroke or other serious heart disease.

Understanding and practicing heart health can prevent complications and save lives. We encourage our patients to ask questions and get informed.
