    Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) or Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is a chronic condition that affects blood vessels outside of the heart. Symptoms and conditions related to PVD include peripheral artery disease, atherosclerosis, varicose veins, non-healing wounds and other conditions that over time can result in heart disease and stroke.

    Components of the St. Anthony North Hospital Vascular Program Include:

    • Vascular Diagnostics - On-site, non-invasive diagnostics and testing allows for more immediate diagnosis of vascular and circulatory conditions and ability to determine treatment options.
    • Vascular Treatments and Interventions - Radiologists and Cardiologists provide catheter based treatment options for Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) and Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD)
    • Follow Up and Ongoing Care for PVD - The wound care center, vein treatment center, cardiac rehabilitation program and diabetes wellness program are all services that provide follow up and ongoing treatments that may be necessary to treat PVD related conditions such as non-healing wounds and varicose veins.  
    • Vascular Disease Education, Screenings and Support - Various screenings, classes and support groups are available to patients and the community.
